Help! I want a pole building and I don’t know where to start!

So you’ve decided you want to build a pole building on your property. But now you’ve got questions.
Lots. Of. Questions.

Don’t panic! It’s okay, questions are good. Take a deep breath and keep reading. Let’s walk through a brief overview of how our process works, from start to finish, to help you understand what to expect, and where to start.

Request a quote and/or information

Whether you’re ready to get pricing on a specific building or just need to ask some questions first, there are several ways you can get in touch with us:

  • Fill out a quote request form on the website
  • Call the office
  • Stop by in-person during office hours and we’ll be glad to chat.

Depending on what you’re looking for, we may be able to get you started with some quick rough pricing and then go from there with a more complete quote and/or on-site planning meeting.

Building design and planning

Once you’re ready to start designing your specific building, we’ll want to talk with you in more detail. Whenever possible, we like to come meet with you in person at your building location to go over options, look at your proposed site and narrow down exactly what you want your building quote to include. You can also come to our office and sit down with one of our expert designers, if that works better for you. Another important step in this part of the planning process is to check with your local zoning and building department to see what requirements your area may have for a post-frame building, and what size and style of building you’re allowed to build on your property. If you need more info on this step and why it’s so important, please see our blog post about zoning/building permits. Once we do your initial estimate, we’ll work with you to revise and adjust your building quote until it’s just the way you want it.

Contract and scheduling

When we have your building just right and you’re ready to move forward with purchasing, we’ll draw up a contract with all the specifications, payment info and other details. We’ll schedule an in-person contract signing where we can sit down and go over everything with you, answer any questions and collect your down payment. Once we process your contract and down payment, we’ll schedule your material delivery and building construction.

Construction

A few weeks before construction is scheduled to begin, a member of our production team will come check your building site, stake out the building and go over details and any questions. Your complete building package will be delivered to your site and one of our expert crews will come construct your building. Garage doors, gutters+downspouts, and concrete (if applicable) will be installed by our subcontractors.

Peace of Mind

Your building (materials and labor) is covered by our industry-leading five year warranty, serviced by Pole Barns Direct. Specific components are also covered by manufacturers warranties. And we’re always here to answer your questions, even after the building is constructed.

Still have questions about how it all works? Ready to talk with someone about your specific building? Give us a call or stop by the office, we’ll be happy to chat with you about pole buildings in general, or your project specifically. We welcome your questions, and we would encourage you to be wary of any company that doesn’t.
